Today, Wiltshire Councillors Elizabeth Threlfall (Brinkworth) and Allison Bucknell (Lyneham) conducted a site visit to Lyneham Banks to review the progress of ongoing repair works.
The project has reached a significant milestone, with a remarkable amount of earth and spoil cleared from the site. The damaged road has been completely removed, and the area has been carefully graded. In addition, extensive drainage systems are being installed to support the new infrastructure and prevent future issues.
The project remains on schedule, with the installation of the new road expected to commence in early 2025. Meanwhile, the sections of road on either side of the site have been thoroughly assessed, and plans are in place to carry out the necessary repairs.
Once all works are completed, the road will be reopened to the public, ensuring a safe and reliable route for residents and commuters alike. The ongoing efforts demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high-quality solution that addresses the challenges faced by the area.
